Arc
A half-day Theatre in Education programme for Years 1 & 2
An exhausted polar bear, ancient, palaeo in memory, slips beneath the surface. As he drowns, he sings his song to a child on a far distant shore.
That child was Billie. She heard the song first from way down deep inside of her, like a drum. As the days passed the song grew. Sitting in class her schoolbook seemed to be singing. High in the branches of her favourite tree she could hear the song echoing and the day she skipped school and ran to the woods, the whole world seemed to be singing.
Soon she didn't know who she was. She was all song.
But what did the song mean. Billie needed help.
Arc is a newly devised Theatre in Education programme for Powys primary schools exploring concepts of fragility, interdependence, stewardship and the future. The programme is a warm and very human story in drama that will allow involvement, high levels of listening, committed self-expression and a deep collective act of the imagination.

'But the guilt of it isn't mine, the guilt belongs to the earth, it is the perfume that rises
from your breast and your hair'
